Policy

ABC Professional Tree Services, Inc. considers safety “education and training” among the company’s highest priorities. The company is committed to ensuring all employees are being properly trained and educated in all aspects of line clearance vegetation management around energized conductors.

Our safety program is comprehensive and multifaceted by design covering a wide array of subject matter necessary to ensure employee training and safe operations. Employee training includes, but is not limited to, comprehensive “hands on” training in safe arboricultural work practices, job site hazard analysis, work zone traffic control, tool and equipment inspection / maintenance and general safety requirements for their job qualification, etc. We realize our very success as a business depends on our ability to provide a safe and highly trained workforce for our customers.

• All employees have a responsibility to work safely.
• No job is so urgent or important that we can`t take time to do the work safely.
• Accident prevention, both on & off the job just makes good sense.
• Everyone is responsible for safety on the job.
• Management will update and revise safety rules, policies and training as needed to ensure the company provides our employees a place of employment free from recognized hazards.
• Safety is led by upper management and field supervision, with each level accountable to those above and responsible for those below.
• We design and integrate safety into all operational decisions.

Safety Training

The ABC Professional Tree Services, Inc. Line Clearance Qualification Program

is the foundation of our company`s safety, education and training program. It was developed to standardize training companywide and to advance the educational training experience we provide all our employees. This training program is used by all management personnel and field supervision to train employees in our company’s safety policies and procedures.

ABC division management, corporate safety and regional safety personnel monitors training of employees to assure compliance with federal / state / local regulations and corporate policies. In addition to on-the-job training, our employees receive additional safety training such as:

• Defensive Driver Training
• Work Zone Traffic Control
• Heat Illness Prevention
• CPR/First Aid Certification
• Electrical Hazards Training
• Specialized Equipment Training

Employees are encouraged to obtain additional certifications in arboriculture and herbicide application, helping to maintain the company's reputation for professionalism and safety.

GPS Tracking

ABC Tree utilizes GPS tracking on our fleet in the field.  This helps us maintain tight controls on driver performance, storm mobilization and fleet utilization.  

Recent Award

Duke Energy recognized ABC Professional Tree Service Inc. with their 2023 Safety Supplier of the Year Award based on our work in Ohio, Indiana and North Carolina.  We are very Thankful of all our Team Members and their support partners, including Duke Energy field supervision, for their hard work and dedication to upholding high safety standards.
